HealthCierge™ | Consent-led cardiovascular research with audit-ready receipts

HealthCierge™ powers a real-world proof-of-concept with Clínica Arvila Magna (Barcelona), enabling patients to share research-grade signals under explicit consent. AI-assisted risk exploration is supported through privacy-preserving workflows and audit-ready receipts — proof of what was requested, what was used, and under what authority.

Clinica Arvila Magna
Transforming healthcare to a patient-centric consumer model

The Challenge

Healthcare research must balance access to meaningful real-world data with patient privacy, clinical governance, and regulatory scrutiny. Traditional clinical systems make it hard to share data safely across organisational boundaries, and consent often becomes a one-off paper exercise rather than a controllable, auditable process. Researchers need timely, diverse signals; regulators and ethics boards require minimisation, traceability, and defensible controls.

Approach

KATLAS partnered with Clínica Arvila Magna to validate a patient-centric research and care pathway using HealthCierge™:

  • Patient-held custody: participants retain control of their health data in role-based wallets, rather than exporting raw records into a shared repository.

  • Purpose-bound requests: clinicians and researchers issue purpose-limited requests (what is needed, for what purpose, and for how long).

  • AI-to-data workflow: analysis runs in a controlled setting so only the required outputs are shared (not the underlying sensitive record).

  • Audit-ready receipts: every consent, access, handover, and published outcome generates a signed receipt (“who requested what, when, what was provided, and under what authority”) — enabling review and assurance without centralising patient records.

  • Privacy-preserving proofs (where required): verifiable proofs can demonstrate compliance with constraints without disclosing the underlying data.

Deployable mechanics

  • Explicit consent: patient authorises access via QR scan (PIN fallback).

  • Clinician-gated access: only credentialed providers can run the pathway.

  • Repeatable pathway: screening → diagnosis (as needed) → follow-up, with GP escalation.

Results

    • Feasibility proven: demonstrated consent-led, auditable data sharing for cardiovascular research workflows.

    • Participant control: individuals remained active custodians of what was shared and for what purpose.

    • Assurance-by-design: audit-ready receipts support governance, oversight, and dispute resolution without a centralised data lake.

    • Reduced admin burden: reusable request/receipt patterns simplify repeat studies and ongoing monitoring.

Watch the HealthCierge™ workflow demo
This short demo shows how a specialist can request access to a patient-held record, receive only the information permitted by consent, and issue a prescription or referral — with each step producing a signed receipt. It illustrates the “coordination you can prove” pattern, without centralising sensitive health data.
